Clay Cross was once a thriving Market Town
The Market was held in Market Street on Saturdays. It was reinstated in the town in the early 1980s on market Street where Iceland stands today. I was then moved to the carparks around the Social Centre and occupied most of them.
Over the years the Market has slowly faded away.

I used to put the stalls up for many years I the 80s on both sites .
