2009/10 Regeneration

Throughout winter 2009 and summer 2010 Clay Cross was in a bit of a mess with roads closed and bus divisions.

A new road was put in from the new roundabout on High Street giving access to Bridge Street without going through the town centre. Bridge Street access from Market Street was blocked. Was this a good idea? many say not!

On December the 6th 2010 Tesco opened its doors for the first time bringing around 250 jobs to the town. Also on the same day we saw the new Bus Station open.

Over the following months, Discount UK opened followed by a new pet shop, Pets At Home.

Over a year later the new shops and Medical centre was completed bringing more new names to the town, The Card Shop and Domino Pizza to mention a few
